The registration for the Summer Suzuki Violin Academy is now up on the www.smes.org/summer website. There are two options – if you are already taking private lessons during the summer with another instructor, you should choose the “Group Class (Other Private Lesson)” option. If I am your private lesson instructor, you should choose the “Group Class + Private Lessons” option.
As I mentioned in class, there are 6 group classes in the summer planned for 3:30-4:30pm on Tuesdays on the following dates: June 11, June 18, July 2, July 9, July 16, & July 23rd. If you cannot make one or more of these dates, please let me know – if there is a date when no students are available to come, I will be happy to reschedule that particular class for another date. Regarding private lessons, please email me regarding your availability – I can be available for private lessons on Wednesdays from 11:45am until 6:15pm, (though I would prefer to schedule private lessons back to back if possible.) If you would prefer another day of the week, please let me know!
The link can be found on www.smes.org/summer or you can go directly to: http://reg125.imperisoft.com/SMES/Search/Registration.aspx
A few notes regarding registration:
"Music exists for the purpose of growing an admirable heart." - Shinichi Suzuki-
Next Tuesday, please be ready to share something with the class, on your instrument.
1) It must be something that you have worked on with your private teacher.
2) Violin solos, duets, trios, and quartets are allowed. If you are sharing a duet, trio, or quartet, you must have practiced with the other members of your group before class begins next Tuesday.
Also next Tuesday, please bring back the book that I lent you (in good condition, please!), and be ready to tell the class one thing that you didn't know before about the composer who is featured in your book.
RESOURCES mentioned in group class today:
1) Suzuki Duet book: http://www.alfred.com/Products/Duets-for-Violins--00-0093S.aspx
OR at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Suzuki-Duets-Violins-Shinichi/dp/0874870933
2) Kerstin Wartberg's Suzuki Trio Book: Note that it comes as a "score" (all three parts in the same book), but you can also buy just the "violin 2" parts in a separate book and just the "violin 3" parts in a separate book (buying separate parts makes it easier to read the music). The links below are to the alfred website but these all should be available on amazon.com as well.

P.s. I forgot to list the audio albums about composers - there is a series which are quite well done. For example, "Beethoven Lives Upstairs", "Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery", "Mr. Bach comes to call", etc.
All the best for those in the Frog & Toad performances this week!
There are no private lessons today, Wednesday, May 1st, due to Frog & Toad performances this week.
Next Tuesday, May 7th, I need to cancel the group class private lessons. My apologies for the late notice!
Private lessons on Wednesday May 8th scheduled as usual.
Everything back to normal the following week.
This week I am working on a schedule for lessons & group classes over the summer. Can you all please let me know if the same days - Tuesdays & Wednesdays - will work in your summer schedules? My current thought is to hold 6 weeks of group classes & private lessons over the summer, on the weeks of June 9th & 16th, and July 7th, 14th, 21st, & 28th. However this is not set in stone.

P.S. One student asked for a practice recording for Twinkle - working on playing without breaks in between notes. Here it is.
